During week 22, blood is flowing through the umbilical cord at 4 MPH to supply your baby with the nutrients and oxygen it needs to survive. The brain is rapidly growing at this point and baby weighs almost a pound and is about 11 inches long. Facial features are almost fully developed and teeth are beginning to form under the gum line. You may begin to feel uncomfortable this week as your uterus has grown to about your belly button. Stretch marks may begin to appear not only on your belly but your breasts, hips and thighs as well. Bending over may begin to feel uncomfortable as may wearing a seat belt, but it’s important to continue to do so!
Here are this week’s pictures 🙂
Baby is about the size of an eggplant 🙂
