Baby’s heart finishes dividing into four chambers this week, and this is usually the first week that you can hear baby’s heart on a Doppler. Baby’s tail is finally gone and although his or her eyes are fully formed, eyelids remain shut until about week 27. Webbing is beginning to disappear between baby’s toes and fingers and he or she can now hiccup! The placenta is now developed enough to take over producing hormones and hCG levels peak this week, meaning that if you haven’t had any nausea yet, your probably in the clear.
